◉ Vigil

Free for our first testers — the finished $29 package is on the house while we’re in early testing.

Your evidence is a mess.
Your case file doesn’t have to be.

Bring your messy screenshots, PDFs, and scattered notes — from a job scam, crypto scam, or identity theft — and leave with an organized, source-linked case file: timeline, exhibit list, loss total, and open questions. You review every AI draft before anyone else sees it.

You only pay ($29 CAD) if you want the finished, print-ready package. Or start anonymously — no name, no email, just a secret link.

Why I built Vigil

“I built Vigil because I know what shame feels like. You feel shameful, you feel embarrassed — and telling people about it is the hard part, because everybody has an opinion. ‘How could you fall for that? How could you believe something like that?’

But when you’re sitting there looking at a number that’s triple the amount of money you’ve ever seen, and it’s in your name — anybody would believe that. Because it’s hope. You have hope that it’s real. And eventually, that gets taken from you.

Talking about it, explaining it to somebody, is really freaking hard. All I wanted was for my life to change. I wanted it to be easier. I wanted to live more comfortably, with less struggle. And when I thought that was possible — it damn near killed me when I found out.

The biggest reason I built Vigil wasn’t for me, though. It was everyone I’d seen on Reddit and in those groups — so proud, so happy, with no idea what was coming.

I wanted anyone who used Vigil to feel less alone without feeling weird, or lonely, or scared. You don’t have to explain yourself here, and there’s no judgment. Just bring the mess — the screenshots, the PDFs, all of it — and it’ll help you lay it out straight. That’s what it did for me: it didn’t replace the people trying to reach me, it helped me finally hear what they’d been saying all along.

Just one person. That’s all I want.”

Questions

Asked a lot

Is this legal advice?

No. Vigil organizes your evidence into a clear case file. It doesn’t give legal advice — for that, talk to a lawyer.

Does this replace filing a police report?

No. Vigil doesn’t replace a police report or a CAFC report. Victims are pointed to their local police and to the CAFC at 1-888-495-8501 — see the reporting list.

My evidence is a total mess. Is that okay?

That’s exactly who Vigil is for. Dump in the screenshots, PDFs, and half-remembered notes — organizing the mess is the whole job.

Who can see my cases?

Only you, with your login. Authorized Vigil operators may access stored information when needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or support the service. We don’t sell your data. Full privacy policy.

What does it cost?

Building your case file is free. You only pay $29 CAD if you want the finished, print-ready PDF package.

Do I have to be in Canada?

No — anyone can use Vigil. Our reporting resources list is Canada-focused for now, and case data is stored in Toronto, Canada.
